V7 Mariner mod (BETA)

v7 beta documentation in progress. v7 beta documentation may be incomplete or inaccurate.
v7 functions and features may be significantly different from previous ACS versions.
These instructions are not valid for current v6+ ACS!

The Mariner mod is for motorized boats and jetskis. It consists of replacements for the Engine, Root Menu, and Root Settings.

Mariner features special performance behavior for boats. Gear change announcements are replaced with a Throttle % based on the total number of configured gears.

v7 Mariner allows the use of the v7 cruise control.

v7 Mariner has a special version of mouselook that allows you to use the control keys as normal to steer. Moving the mouse around only changes your view.

Mariner is for dedicated boats, and operates only in boat and flight mode. Amphibian mode is not used.

Mariner comes pre-loaded with a power boat sound set.

Used with ParticleSystem, the wake particle section of ParticleSystem is generated in prims using the wake keyword while the boat is in motion.

  1. Set the permissions on the scripts (no mod/no transfer)
  2. Swap out your Root Menu, Root Settings, and Engine in your v7.0+ vehicle's root for these Mariner versions.

You can use the TurnSystem to animate rudders, etc as well as the v7 Propeller script in individual prims to spin a propeller.

Instead of gear numbers, the throttle percentage (%) is given. The percentage is based on the number of gears. If you want an even throttle % number, set the number of gears to 5, 10, or 20.

Set your gear list in the Mariner Root Settings script.

list            Init_List_Throttle =       [20, 35, 50, 65, 80, 95, 110, 125, 140, 155];

The vehicle is shifted using the E/C or PageUp/PageDown keys only.

To disable banking, simply set Zero Bank from the > Controls, > Settings, > Banking menu.

Edit boat settings such as float height and rez offset in the Root Settings Mariner script. To disable the nose lift, set NoseUp to 0.

float           F_Height =          0.25;//Boat Floating HEIGHT (default 0.25);
float NoseUp = 5; //degrees for boat nose lift on power
float rez_offset = -0.0;//amount to offset on rez. Lower your boat into the water on rez.

FOR LARGE BOATS / BARGES ETC: Set the value ForceLevel to TRUE in the Root Settings to prevent all tilt and lean behaviors.
