Amphibian Sensor (BETA)

The Amphibian Sensor script will make your vehicle into an Amphibious one. It will automatically determine if your vehicle is on land or Linden water, and will change between your vehicle's defined boat and car/bike physics.


  • Set the permissions on the Amphibian Sensor script to No Transfer
  • Place the script inside a prim in the v7 vehicle. For best results the Amphibian Sensor script should be placed in a prim at the front end of your vehicle, so that when the front part of the vehicle sense water or land, the vehicle can switch to the appropriate mode.

Now go for a drive… into the water.

Things to Know

  • You may also want to adjust the boat settings in your Root Settings for float height.
  • Amphibian mode does not use the NoseUp setting in the boat settings. When using the Amphibian Sensor, your vehicle will stay level while in the water.
  • Only one Amphibian Sensor script should be in the linkset.
  • Gravity and DownForce settings are not applied while the vehicle is in the water.
  • You may wish to add some prims with wake in the name to activate water/boat particle streams while in the water if using the ParticleSystem script.

The Amphibian Sensor script is not any use for mod installs that do not include boat mode such as the knife or drag, or the dedicated watercraft Mariner mod.

Do not use the Amphibian Sensor script in a dedicated boat.
